Solar energy can be used to heat water for a pool by running water through a series of pipes or tubes. What colour should the pipes be? What other features should this system have to improve its efficiency?
You should create a form of greenhouse situation around your pipes (which should be matte black) so to trap any radiant heat from those pipes. By creating an enclosed atmosphere with the glass, you can contain nearly all heat and thus be extremely efficient when heating your pool water.

Matt black unless you are in a seasonally very sunny area. The black absorbs heat very well, so potentially it could get hot enough to boil the water if you are in an occasionally very hot climate. Some areas use pale colours because of this.
Black absorbs heat best, but also radiates it better than white or chrome surfaces.
