What are some useful heating tips for electric heating this winter?

This is my first winter living in my own apartment and I’m not sure what heating tips I should keep in mind. It is electric heat. Does it really make a difference what temp you keep it on? (such as 68 instead of 72?) Is it important to turn it off at night? etc.

You might consider keeping it set lower and using an oil filled radiator as a space heater (they are inexpensive and portable). That way, your heat won’t have to run constantly. Cooler air is supposed to be better for sleeping, too.
