SOLAR PANEL DIY MAKE YOUR OWN SOLAR PANEL BUILD SOLAR PANELS
How to build your own solar panel?
Okay extra questions…
Can you really build one on your own? Or do I need a technician or someone qualified to help me install the panel?
I would love to make one myself coz I love diy stuff but so far the instructions I found online are pretty confusing…
Oh, and please don’t tell me to go to inane ‘how to’ sites like ehow for instance. Sites with detailed step by step instructions would help greatly!
Thanks!
Yes you can build one yourself mate! The simple kind mind you. I build a really simple panel, which was enough to power up a few household items! Now since you’re looking for “detailed step-by-step instructions, then I’d suggest you go get your hands on one of those video DIY guides. Don’t go for text instructions because you’re a total noob mate. It’d hard for you to understand what’s what lol
Good luck!

@edgaritoaqui sylgard 184 encapsulation seems like the way to go for sealing solar panels. Never tried it my self but I seen others saying this.

Is there a way to make a birdbath fountain – solar – by placing a cell in the water of the birdbath instead of one on the ground? If anyone can explain the size needed and the pros and cons? Also, watts etc.
Thank you so much.

@kermmittfrog firstly a few watts isn’t going to have any noticable affect on your bill. Secondly, I believe solar panels produce DC (like a battery), mains power here in Aust. is AC, so you would need inverters and all sorts of electronics installed into your house.

great video, like you said that coffee sure makes you jitery.

That looks like a tedious soldering job. I’d end up breaking cells because of my heavy handed soldering.

hey, is there anyway to cut the cells to custom shapes without too much splintering? can you score them? cut them with water jet/laser?

I know where you could get a little extra silicon…..

I made my own solar panel…. to power my own solar panel making factory. It measured 36km X 39 km. Ps how do you grab your ‘SODERING IRON’ in the wrong spot? Too many coffees he reckons. Personally I reckon he got distracted by his wife’s silicon valley.
