using portable air conditioner as a fan?
hi, I recently bought a portable Haier air conditioner. It’s 7000 btu and operates at 800W. I also like to double up the air conditioner as a fan when it’s not so hot but would like to know if I will still be using as much power. If the machine is only running as a fan with no cooling turned on, will it use (significantly?) less wattage and therefore less electricity? Does anyone know how the power consumption is compared to a conventional fan? Thanks.
Definitely, but you would get better circulation using a floor or desk fan using about the same or less power.
