what is the best type of central heating system to install?

I am buying a house which has no gas supply although it is possible to get a gas supply. However I have heard that modern elctric central heating systems are just as good and I would like to know if an electric system could be as good and if the costs were effective

Nothing is as good as Gas David. I have a similar situation, except there is no gas here at all and we have had to put up with awful storage heaters! We looked into the electric system you mentioned but it works out very expensive not just to install but to run. Gas will be cheaper and more efficient in the long run for you
