How do I clean home heating oil out of clothes?

My hubby does HVAC for a living and works everyday with home heating oil. His company provides his clothes but we have to wash them. What works the best to get the stains and the smell out of the clothes? We have tried Clorox color safe bleach, Lestoil, Biz…….to no avail…..

dawn dish soap and Surf laundry soap.
you can also see if you can find febreze for the wash- its hard to find but works also
use the dawn as a pre-treater
( i save a left over dawn bottle and put in a few inches of soap and water, this was trial and error on my part, too much soap and it leaves the clothes crunchy, leaves the soap in the fabric. try to put the water in first then put in the dawn- it keeps it from foaming up) treat the bad spots.

then wash with the surf, turn on the extra rinse cycle to get all the soap out.
