How to make my heat vent on the ceiling less loud?

The vent on my ceiling is so unbelievably loud that it wakes my roommates and I up every time it turns on. Is there any reason to make it less noisy?

The louvers in the vents sometimes get loose over a period of time. The best thing to due is remove the screws ( one on each side ) on the vent and remove. Take it to your local home improvement and match it up and reinstall. This should solve your sleepless nights.
