Car makes loud very rattling noise when I turn on heat or ac. What could it be?
Car is a 2003 Nissan Maxima.
First noticed when it got really cold outside and I tried to warm the car up b4 driving. Turned on the heat and it started rattling really loud. Sound is coming from the passenger side dashboard/glove compartment area.
Sometimes I can turn the heat/ac on with no noise problem but after I turn a corner, the loud rattling noise will start again.
Theres junk in the fan motor. The motor that actually blows the air out has something in it. Its happened to me on a different car where the mice crawled in in the winter time and made a home in there. take it out and clean it or whatever needs to be done to get that out.
