Are Heat Recovery Ventilation system viable is it worth while do they work. Is it a good Idea?

I am building a house soon and was concidering a Heat Recovery Ventilation system but i cant find any reviews on the net. There are plenty of company claims but i would like an honest review from some one who has the system or knows what there talking about!

They recover a portion of the heat that would normally be exhausted in any ventilation system. I’d guess at 50% or so.

Since any well insulated house needs a ventilation system, one that recovers some of that lost heat is a plus.
