Mill going green, will produce own electricity
MOOSE RIVER — Having struggled the past several years, one major employer and lumber producer is now stepping up as a prominent competitor as it becomes the first sawmill in Maine to generate its own electricity.
I would like to purchase a solar panel and heating system for my greenhouse, Is this possible?
Your greenhouse essentially IS a solar panel so to supplement that you would need it set up where it would not cast a shadow on the greenhouse.
While it could certainly be done your biggest concern is preventing frost in the greenhouse and that is only likely at night when there is no sun. So somehow you would need to store heat which might make the solar system a little more complicated than it’s worth. If there is any part of your greenhouse that catches the sun, such as a path down the middle, you could line it with dark colored bricks.
