Does it mean no hot water if I have no gas in my building?

I’ve been on vacation and there was a gas leak in my apartment building while I was still away. The gas is still out until Con Ed turns it back on once the leak is repaired. If the boiler in my building runs on gas, does that mean I won’t have hot water when I get back, until the gas is turned back on?

if its gas heated then it sure sounds like it
