Ariston combi boiler model 27mffi?

Boiler locks out anytime it feels like it, can be when it 1st comes on,or during heating or running hot water. I’ve had the primary heat exchanger changed, but now the problem seems worse, dont advise me to call an engieer, i’ve tried that and am now £350 worse off. the boiler is only 3yrs old and dont want to throw it out just yet, i will get an engineer out, but only when i’m more sure of what i’m talking about. Some expert advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

probably the overheat stat (a small sensor on the heat exchanger) not expensive to buy. you can change it yourself but turn off the power while you do it
