electric or gas central heating?

My heating is operated by a switch in the kitchen where the timer is and it powers up the back boiler behind the gas fire.Does this make it totally electric heating or is any gas involved i asked 2 friends one said all electric and the other said the gas supply was involved to so please help.The gas to the gas fire was disconnected because i sleep in the same room as it and if no gas is being used at all now i can stop the monthly direct debit on it.

Back boiler is probably from a gas supply, the switch is to fire up the ignition on the gas back boiler
