How much on average does air conditioning installation cost?
We have to replace our entire central air system and Ive found some units online but I cant get a hold of any contractors today to get a quote. Was just wondering what it generally costs for the installation.

Its a 2 ton 15 Seer complete electric system…no heat pump just the strips
My guess is $4500 and up installed. Unfortunately, you will not find a contractor who will install the unit that you bought on-line.
So, you need to call several HVAC contractors and ask for an estimate. Since this is a big (probably very profitable) job for them the estimate is usually free. They will come to your house, check what system you have, what you need, and give you their estimate (paper copy). Then you can decide which one you like best.
