how do I remove a window mounted air conditioner that is five stories up? There seems to be a bracket under?
neath on the outside, but it is not bolted down. It is over 30 years old and so the installation specs are long gone. It is too heavy to pull straight through. Will I have to take the window out?
First off, I would speak to your local government about it. Try the planning commission. They might have a suggestion. Secondly, it might be possible to use a “cherry picker” to get it out. Thirdly, if you try to remove the window, make sure the thing is roped off from the roof first! If not the roof, then the window above it. Lastly, make sure the area below the work is cordoned off!
Oh..and PS…you might see about getting an insurance rider for this one!! LOL
